Detailed itinerary

Day 1 – Today, we will take a bus leaving from Cusco early morning and arriving in Puno late afternoon. An English/Spanish-speaking guide will accompany us throughout the day to provide information about the various sites we stop at on the way.

Our first stop will be the little village of Andahuaylillas, where we visit a colonial church amazingly decorated with paintings and gold and, therefore, named the Sixtine Chapel of the Americas. The two next stops will be, first, the archaeological site of Raqchi - a temple-town dedicated to the god Wiraccocha - and, shortly after, an Andean animal refuge where you can approach and photograph lamas, alpacas, vicuñas and cuys (guinea pigs).

After this, a buffet lunch awaits us in the town of Sicuani and, from there, you’ll just have the time for a quick nap on the bus before we reach La Raya, the highest point of our journey, where we can inhale the fresh air of the Altiplano altitudes and, if the weather is clear, enjoy a spectacular view of the Chimboya glacier.

Finally, in the town of Pukara, we will visit a small museum containing petroglyphs dating from the pre-Inca culture known as Pukara, before riding our last stretch of road to reach Puno.

Day 2 - This morning our private vehicle will first take us to the “Gate of the Gods”, a massive gateway, approximately seven metres high by seven wide, carved into a natural rock face and in the centre of which has been carved another, smaller, doorway. This site is considered by many to be a trans-dimensional portal which activates under particular conditions. Whether it is or not, the energies present are powerful.

Each one will react in their own way to these energies, according to what they need on the moment. Some have received emotional cleansing, some have had visions of other worlds or dimensions, some have channelled messages and others have simply felt at peace.

We will perform our first cleansing ceremony here to mark the start of our mystical work with the energies and spirits of Lake Titicaca and all participants will be given time to stand in the sacred doorway and experience its energy.

Our driver will then take us to the border with Bolivia. After the process of having our passports stamped out of Peru and into Bolivia we will catch local transport for a short ride to the coastal town of Copacabana, where we will check in at our hotel before going for lunch.

In the afternoon, we can visit Copacabana’s basilica which features numerous symbols known to be linked to the cult of the Sacred Feminine.

Day 3 - In the morning, we will head for the beach to meet our captain, board our private boat and navigate out of Copacabana.

The first stretch of our trip will take us to the Island of the Moon. On its beach, we will cleanse ourselves with the lake’s sacred waters, before walking up to the Ajllahuasi or “house of the chosen girls” which will be the site of our day’s first ceremony, focused on connection to the Sacred Feminine Elements.

Then, back on our boat, we will head towards the northern part of the Island of the Sun. There, a 45-minute hike up will take us to the Puma Rock, a megalithic ceremonial table and the remains of the Chinkana pre-Inca complex where we can enjoy our packed lunch. After this, we will perform another ceremony, working with the waters of a Sacred Spring that this site holds, for purification and to activate some of our chakras. We can also each fill a bottle with this sacred water to take away for future healing purposes.

Later, we will walk back down to the boat and make our way back to reach Copacabana in time for dinner and a well-deserved night’s sleep…

Day 4 - We will have the morning free to roam about the quiet streets of Copacabana or make some good-value artisan shopping. After an early lunch, we will catch a bus, across the border, back into Peru and to Puno. The little time left in the afternoon can be used to take a stroll along Puno’s pedestrian strip and its main square.

Day 5 - This morning, we will board the luxurious Andean Explorer train to make our way back from Puno to Cusco. This day’s journey is the indulgence deserved after the work everyone will have provided. We can lay back and enjoy the spectacular views of the Altiplano, sat in a comfortable armchair and gently rocked by the rhythm of the train. We will be served an excellent lunch after which you could sip a cup of coffee or a Pisco Sour – Peru’s national cocktail – in the bar lounge or the adjacent panoramic coach to take in yet more wonderful views. Your own Orient Express experience…

We will arrive in Cusco early evening and you will be transferred to your hotel.

Alternative Day 5 - The return from Puno to Cusco can also be done on a bus. This bus journey offers no stops for visits or lunch on the way. It takes approximately 7 hours.
