Reiki energy treatments

Mystical AndesReiki is a Japanese expression whose meaning could be translated as “universal life-force guided by Spirit”. This name was given to an ancient hands-on healing technique rediscovered by a Japanese monk, Mikao Usui, early in the 1900’s.

During a treatment session, the therapist channels the Reiki healing energies, out through the hands and into the patient’s energy system. The Reiki energies can then act on all four levels of the patient’s being – physical, mental, emotional and spiritual – to assist in the recovery of its balance, health and harmony.

A Reiki treatment will leave a patient with a sense of inner peace and radiance. For this reason, it is often used as a relaxation technique. However, its healing properties are far more numerous. Reiki can weaken or eliminate physical pain and reduce recovery times from illness or injury. It can allow one to obtain a clearer mind or increased memory, to let go of obsolete thoughts or break repetitive thought patterns. It assists in the releasing of negative emotions and the healing from emotional trauma. It can dissolve stress and help one feel more self-confident and joyful.

Reiki can be used as a powerful complementary therapy. It will cause no negative interaction whatsoever with the medical or psychotherapeutic treatment a patient might be undergoing. On the contrary, Reiki will support any healing process that is already taking place, helping to make a patient’s recovery quicker and easier.

Reiki therapy, when used in the Andes, has proven very efficient against the symptoms of altitude sickness. This, added to its non-invasive aspect and the fact that it produces no negative side-effects, make a Reiki treatment the ideal solution for anyone recently arrived at high altitudes, whether it be as a means of prevention or as a relief from existing symptoms.

Our Reiki treatments can be given, both, in our specially prepared therapy room located in Urubamba, in the Sacred Valley, or within the comfort of your own hotel room, whether in the Sacred Valley or Cusco.
